About Us

Makoto Yasuda, Shareholder and Representative Director, Yasuda Makoto & Co., Ltd.

Mr. Yasuda has, for over 45 years, been engaged in international private equity investment and management activities, particularly in Asia, in cross-border corporate advisory services, M&A, project development, and other merchant banking activities.

From 1969 to 1987, Mr. Yasuda was with Private Investment Company for Asia (PICA) S.A..  This multinational development finance/investment company was organized by a consortium of 243 major banks and companies from the United States, Japan, Europe, Australia, and Canada and specializes in private equity investment in the development countries in Eastern Asia to assist the growth of the region.  From 1977 to 1984, Mr. Yasuda was a member of the PICA’s main board and Executive Vice President at the company.  When PICA was acquired by the Elders Group of Australia, he served as Chairman of Elders-PICA before establishing in 1987 Yasuda Makoto & Co., Ltd., an international corporate advisory firm.

Mr. Yasuda has also been sitting on the board of various companies, currently including Sanwa Holdings Corporation (a public company engaged in construction materials), SECOM Co., Ltd. (a public company, a top security services firm), etc..  In the past, he was Director of Azbil Corporation (a public company engaged in building automation and industrial automation), Li& Fung Limited, (Hong Kong public company, the top global supply chain company), Elders Finance Group Limited (Australian public company), Atlas Copco K.K. (the Japanese subsidiary of Atlas Copco Group, the largest global manufacturer of compressors), Dodwell Japan, Kenwood Corporation, Japan Communications Inc., etc.  He was also an Advisor to various companies including HSBC Japan, Ventana (a U.S. venture capital group), Interface Pacific Corporation, etc..

Mr. Yasuda received his Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, and a BA in Economics from Gakushuin University.
